The City View Trail is just off of West Horizon Ridge Parkway, between Green Valley Parkway and MacDonald Ranch Drive, tucked in the back of a residential neighborhood of Sun City. You’ll know when you reach it, there’s a small parking lot and restrooms that mark the trailhead.
Check here for specific directions on how to get there.
This is a fairly simple trail, perfect for avid hikers or anyone who wants to take a more relaxed walk. The trail is 1.3 miles in total, out and back. The paths are long straight stretches that switch back and forth until you reach the top. There are also benches along the way, if you need to take breaks.
Once you get to the top, you’ll have an amazing view of the city. You’ll be able to see the skyline of The Strip and across the whole valley! It’s definitely a view that you’ll want to sit and enjoy for awhile. This view of the city is especially beautiful as the sun is going down. Try to make your way to the top to watch the sunset!
There are tons of rocks at the top of the hill. You can sit on them or add to the huge stack that is currently growing there.
Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as this is a dirt trial lined with rocks and cactus. And as always, bring plenty of water with you, even though this is a short hike.
